New Crystals, New Ideas.

Today while working a psychic fair I befriended a local crystal miner, and spent some time talking geology and stone properties with him. I’ve really resisted learning much about the whole subject because so many of the people devoted to crystals are real… well, wackos, and I haven’t been interested enough to deal with that kind of thing. But talking to an expert who is very pragmatic, even about the metaphysical properties of crystals, was refreshing.

He let me pick out a few pieces to start working with: first I found a skinny quartz with, apparently, an iron oxide coating that gives it a yellow cast; the second I picked was a clear quartz point. They seem to have an Odd Couple air to them. I’m going to get them into some direct sun tomorrow during solstice, and then see where things go from there. It’ a completely new subject to me even, so my apologies if I get a little basic for you.

I’ll post more updates on this as I start to figure out what the hell I’m doing.
