Last Thursday I spent some time at the Seattle Metaphysical Library and came back with a few new books (these ones are just loaners… I’m sticking to my guns about new books so far!) Here’s a quick rundown:

The Donna Cunningham book is by far the largest at 150 pages, but they all seem to be packed with useful knowledge. I’ll be working my way through them over the course of the week here; I’m also thinking about starting to photograph my book covers. Most of the things I’ve picked up recently are out of print, and Amazon doesn’t seem to have images for many of them. It’s a shame because most of these are not rare at all, and are valuable texts that should stay in active circulation (until they find a home on my shelf, at least).

I’m a good portion of the way through the Donna Cunningham book, and highly recommend it for anyone looking to use astrology for stability and physical improvement. Expect a review of this one!

  1. It was a day of Donnas for you! I have read the Cunningham book–love it. I also have read the Van Toen book–very interesting. And you know, I agree with you about Amazon and the scarcity of images–sometimes a picture really CAN be worth a thousand words, especially when you’re trying to decide what to buy. Looking forward to your book review(s)!

  2. I’m breaking out the camera tonight! I think cover shots for Amazon will help generate some love for the old, out-of-print books. You wouldn’t believe the covers, either! Some are very sedate and old-fashioned; others… less so.
