Hidden in Plain Sight

I’ve been studying astrology for almost fifteen years now, and it still amazes me how I can find new things in my chart all the time. There’s definitely a subjective angle to analyzing your own information, because I’ve overlooked or trivialized countless things that would be patently obvious to me in someone else’s chart.

My most recent example is a biggie: it never sunk in for me that I have a big fat yod, with my Sun-Jupiter in the 3rd and Neptune in the 5th pointing out that tenth house Chiron. More Neptune work to integrate, it seems… I suspect that’s my next big life project.

Some other “aha” moments I’ve had with things I overlooked for a long time:

  • I have six planets squaring my nodal axis… why is it such a struggle to feel like I’m making progress in life? Why? I can’t figure it out. Ha.
  • Maybe the reason I’m so overanalytical has to do with the five-planet stellium in Libra in the 3rd. Air? We haz it.
  • My divorce was finalized right after Neptune entered my 7th house
  • The next big breakup (with the Ex) occurred as Chiron entered my 7th, triggered by the moon passing over both
  • The detox stellium is parked in my 7th right now, and the recent relationship fracture occurred as Jupiter retrograded back to my descendant, with transiting moon on top again (starting to notice a pattern here…)

There are other things, of course, but those were some of the big ones.

Do you have aspects that took a while to wrap your head around, or transits that snuck up on you?

I’ve had my chart done a couple of times, but I always forget what everything means. I’m so intrigued by what you’re writing about, but I don’t really understand what it all means. I’d love it if you’d pick particular items, in your chart or any other, and explain what they mean– (Like what’s a “nodal axis”?) Or if you dedicated a blog post to each aspect of a chart, explaining what they mean/how they work or interconnect. For instance, what is the role of Jupiter or what do the different houses represent? (Or have you done that already and I missed it?) :-)

Well, Pluto squares my NN and Saturn just Opposes it :p
Same kind of a result, I would say.

My Lovely Saturn in Cancer in the 8th (you know, just plain old Fun) rules my 3rd house and Jupiter is there, retrograde. So one day I thouhgt:
    - Maybe that’s why is just so plain Hard to make it as a writer…
(maybe I messed up big time in a former life or lifes and that’s just karma.)

I have Venus in Virgo – Venus in Leo types annoy the hell out of me >:(
I, ciclicly, get new friends and aquainteces (sp?) – Pluto in the 11th.

    Well, not truly ah-ha moments…

@Dunya- Pluto’s one of my node squares also (along with Saturn), and if Saturn sits on your south node you’re right, you’re definitely feeling similar effects!

Aha moments or no, big aspects like that do need time to process…
