On Thursdays I answer astrology questions I’ve received through email or the search bar. If you have a question, contact me and yours might be answered next!
How can a Pisces learn not to be emotional?
The old saw about the leopard not changing its spots springs to mind here. The objective is really to learn to manage your emotions and trust yourself more. Many, many Pisceans are controlled by their emotional sensitivity, and many others are so protective of their highly sensitive natures that they develop a stony exterior in compensation. Neither of these is ideal, though understandable. The Pisces archetype is about nakedness; there is no hard shell like Cancer or self-protective stinger like Scorpio.
A great Piscean role model is Havi Brooks of The Fluent Self. She teaches—and demonstrates—that it is possible and healthy to be highly emotional, while both accepting it as part of yourself and remaining self-aware about it whenever possible. Her habit detective teachings are a great counterpoint to the fog that people can develop when things are emotionally stressful.
How to deal with moon transits?
Anticipation. Know thine enemy, right?
The moon makes the same aspects around your chart every month, so it reinforces patterns as it goes. Following your monthly transits, If you find you have very defined patterns that you fall into over and over again periodically, it may be heralded by the moon crossing over a certain part of your chart. Some parts of your chart are naturally more sensitive than others; I wrote about this briefly in my Moon Transit Adventures post.
If you can read your own chart, keeping a diary of your moods and feelings over a month and seeing what days you are affected most can be very helpful. Also, seeing an astrologer to specifically address your moon transit cycle can help you smooth out those rough spots, and become more aware of which of your habits you want to reinforce and which you want to disconnect from.
It’s hard being a Pisces.
This isn’t really a question, but I read this one off to El Pisces and he vigorously agreed.
You’re not wrong. Like we noted earlier, the Pisces experience is one of being naked. So don’t be too hard on yourself; as the final sign of the zodiac, Pisces has the karmic task of putting together all the fragments from the other eleven signs. Integration is a lifelong process, and no easy task, but only Pisces can catch those amazing glimpses of the unity of the universe when things really start to fall into place. Keep the faith.
